Headaches & Migraine Fix
Headaches and Migraines along with back pain are the most common reasons for people attending their GP clinics.
These debilitating conditions cause sufferers to lose days at work and time away from friends and families, missing out on important social events and activities.
If you are experiencing either of these we can help. Many of our patients come to us having been told that there is nothing that can be done and that they have to live with them.
Cervico-genic headache is pain located in the head which can occur with or without neck pain.
Migraine is a throbbing type headache that is usually one sided and is differentiated from a headache by the associated features such as nausea, vomiting and light and sound sensitivity.
Causes
The causes of Cervicogenic headache are usually multi-factorial. Often strain/stress/dysfunction occurring within the upper neck is the main driver. Migraines often have an upper neck component but are linked to hormonal changes, stress, diet, sleep and inherited genetic elements.
Prognosis
Both Cervicogenic headache and migraine can persist for years however with treatment both are at the least more manageable and in some cases curable. With the correct input it is possible to see a change in both conditions within 8-12 weeks.
Treatment
Treatment is normally carried out over a 3-4 month period and requires approximately 6-12 sessions.

Important Information
Rehabilitation is not a quick fix and can be longer due to age, duration of symptoms, and the extent of degeneration and weakness. It is very important that you attend your treatment sessions as suggested by your therapist and follow through with your re-assessment. The recommendations in this action plan are based on your individual condition and examination results.
